Natural Dyeing

Nikola's course was exceptionally well prepared and organised - having thought of all things in advance the course was well presented and differentiated to each individual's needs encouraging both risk taking and creativity.

Collage

Nikola is an excellent teacher and textile artist. I had the pleasure of attending a tailor-made 3 day textile workshop in the summer, in her sunny, open-concept workshop. She was able to put together a program specific to my needs and time constraints.  In 3 days we were able to cover batik, block printing, and shibori using indigo dyes. Nikki is someone who is very personable, passionate and talented. I learned a lot, was well taken care of, and we had tonnes of fun together. She is fantastic! For anyone who is into textiles, go take a vacation in Aquitaine and get your creativity flowing!

TEXATELIER
- Arts & Permaculture Center

The main focus of our workshops, which we run in England, central Portugal and SW France
is on Textiles Arts courses. Over the years a closer attention to ‘Natural Dyeing’ techniques has grown, we are cultivating a ‘Dyers garden’ and developing methods of processing plants for our Arts activities.

We offer: Full day workshops and (less frequently), Week-long courses.

Currently our course range is:

Natural-Dyeing/Eco-Printing, Indigo & Shibori, Felt-making, Batik,

Printing and Painting on fabric, & Heat transfer printing on fabric

Any of these courses can run in a way tailored to your needs and at a time of your choosing, however we do also schedule events on a periodic basis - (check the Events Agenda) and perhaps follow our blog or other social media pages.

At Texatelier; Nikola’s courses in Textiles Arts specialisms will continue to be offered as well as some new ‘Permaculture’ and organic farming courses.
(Sean, and other practitioners, will also be offering: homesteading skills, natural building techniques, experimental architecture, Kiln and Oven design and building)

- this now defines what Texatelier has become and is still becoming. (our Portugal location is 100% off-grid and strives towards self-sufficiency)

Three locations: triple the fun with affordable activities running throughout the year - All levels / All ages

PORTUGAL, Arganil : One day and one week courses, Possibility of Home-Stays and camping .
FRANCE, Lot [46] : One day and one week courses, (no accommodation).
